Pontoon Boats Near Sacramento, Roseville and Folsom Lake

If you have been searching for pontoon boats for sale near you and you live anywhere between Sacramento and the Sierra foothills, we are probably closer than you think. Sierra Hills Marine is in Auburn, on the Interstate 80 corridor in Placer County.

We are an authorized Bentley Pontoons dealer, so new inventory is Bentley: comfortable, well-built boats from 16 to 25 feet, on two or three tubes. We also sell used pontoon boats when we have them. If the boat you want is not on the lot, we can order a new one built to your spec.

What sets us apart from a showroom is the shop behind it. The same team that sells your pontoon handles its service, winterization and decontamination, so you have one place to call for as long as you own the boat.

Buying Guide

How to Choose a Pontoon Boat

Four decisions cover most of it. Come by and we will walk you through them on real boats.

Length and Capacity

Count the people you actually take out. Boats in the 16 to 20-foot range carry 7 to 11 and suit couples and small families. The 22 to 25-footers carry up to 15 or 16 and give everyone a seat on a full-crew Saturday.

Two Tubes or Three

Two tubes are economical and ideal for cruising and fishing on calmer water. A three-tube pontoon, often called a tritoon, rides higher, turns better and handles chop and watersports. It is the better choice for busy lakes and big water.

Horsepower

For cruising, 90 to 115 horsepower is plenty on a two-tube boat. For tubing, skiing or a heavily loaded boat, plan on 150 horsepower or more on three tubes. We will match the engine to how you boat rather than to the top of the rating plate.

Floor Plan

Cruise layouts maximize lounge seating. Swingback seats flip to face forward or aft at the stern. Fishing layouts add corner fishing seats, rod storage and a livewell. Sit in a few and the right one is usually obvious.

Local Knowledge

The Right Pontoon for Northern California Lakes

Where you boat matters as much as what you buy. Here is how we would set up a pontoon for the water around us.

Folsom Lake

The closest big lake to our shop. Mornings are calm; summer afternoons bring wind and boat wake. A 22 to 24-foot pontoon on three tubes handles all of it and still tucks into a cove for lunch.

Folsom Lake has golden mussel inspection rules for trailered boats. We handle boat decontamination in our shop.

Lake Tahoe

Big, cold and quick to get rough. For Tahoe we recommend three tubes, a larger fuel tank and enough horsepower to get home when the afternoon wind arrives. Tahoe requires a watercraft inspection before you launch.

Rollins Lake, Scotts Flat and Collins Lake

Foothill reservoirs are where a two-tube pontoon shines. An 18 to 22-foot boat is easy to tow up the hill, simple to launch and comfortable all day on modest power.

Lake of the Pines and Private Lakes

Community lakes usually set their own limits on boat length and horsepower. Bring us your association's rules and we will find a pontoon that fits them.

Areas We Serve

A Pontoon Dealer Close to Home

Our dealership is in Auburn, and we serve pontoon buyers from Placer County, the Sacramento area and the foothill towns along Highway 49. Buying close to home matters after the sale, when the boat needs its first service or a winterization and you would rather not tow it across the valley.

We service boats for owners in:

Auburn · Roseville · Rocklin · Loomis · Granite Bay · Lincoln · Folsom · El Dorado Hills · Sacramento · Grass Valley · Nevada City · Colfax

Questions

Buying a Pontoon Boat: Common Questions

Where can I buy a pontoon boat near Sacramento?

Sierra Hills Marine sells pontoon boats at 174 Team Track Rd in Auburn, up Interstate 80 from Sacramento, Roseville and Rocklin. We are an authorized Bentley Pontoons dealer with a full service department on site.

Do you sell both new and used pontoon boats?

Yes. We sell new Bentley pontoons and used pontoon boats when we have them. Inventory changes often, so call (530) 830-1308 if you do not see what you are after.

What size pontoon boat is best for Folsom Lake?

Most families on Folsom Lake are happy in the 20 to 24 foot range. If you plan to tow tubes or skiers, or you regularly load the boat with a full crew, look at a three-tube hull with more horsepower. It handles afternoon wind and weekend boat chop better than a two-tube boat.

Do I need a tritoon for Lake Tahoe?

We recommend one. Tahoe is big, cold water and the wind often builds in the afternoon. A three-tube pontoon with enough horsepower rides higher and handles chop better than a two-tube boat. Lake Tahoe also requires a watercraft inspection before you launch.

How much does a pontoon boat weigh, and can I tow one?

Bentley lists boat weights from about 1,540 pounds for the LE 160 to about 3,060 pounds for the Elite 253 on the XLP3 hull. That is before the engine, fuel, gear and trailer. Check your vehicle's tow rating against the full package, and we can help you add it up.

Does my pontoon need to be decontaminated to launch at Folsom Lake?

Trailered, motorized boats launching at Folsom Lake or Lake Clementine are subject to inspection and golden mussel control measures, and may need a quarantine seal unless they have been professionally decontaminated. Sierra Hills Marine provides boat decontamination in our Auburn shop.

How do I get a price on a pontoon boat?

Call us at (530) 830-1308 or send the form on this page. Pricing depends on the hull, engine and options, so we quote each boat individually.

Do you offer financing on pontoon boats?

Yes. Financing is available, and our online credit application takes a few minutes. You will find it on our Finance page.
